Chemical peel

What is a chemical peel treatment?

Chemical peel is a treatment that consists in the application of a chemical agent on the skin that speeds up its regular exfoliation process, producing the subsequent regeneration and improvement of its appearance, in a safe and effective manner.

At our Dra. Ana Moreno clinic, the chemical peel treatment is included within the facial aesthetics treatments that we offer, as it is a minimally invasive treatment that only uses certain acidic compounds and is used mostly to treat ageing and facial photoaging.

What are the results?

The chemical peel treatment will be different based on the needs of each patient. In each case, different products will be applied (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, etc.) whether individually or combined.

A cosmetic surgeon is the best person to advise you on the type of treatment that your skin requires. This allows us to obtain very positive results in terms of:

  • A decrease in the depth of the wrinkles on the face, as the face’s skin is much firmer.
  • The removal of blemishes on skin, the sun or merely time itself can have a negative effect on our skin, but with this method we can correct those more obvious blemishes that appear on our skin.
  • Remove epidermal damage such as liver spots or actinic keratosis.
  • Uniformed skin tone, even if the patient has no obvious blemishes, the darker tones of the skin can be more uniformed using a chemical peel.
  • The improvement of skin conditions such as acne.
  • Scar reduction acne scar reduction, the rehydration the skin, and treatment of the upper layers of the skin make this one of the best treatments for the removal of these imperfections from the face.
  • Eye bag treatment, this aesthetic defect can be an irritation, but it can also be the ideal partner when treating these areas of the face.

How is the chemical peel done in Granada at the Dra. Ana Moreno Clinic?

In general, we recommend to all of our patients that a chemical peel be applied over several sessions, each separated by at least 21 days. Our medical professionals may decide on how many sessions they believe are required to obtain the desired results from the treatment.

Chemical peel sessions involve a simple and quick process, which generally allow patients to immediately get back to their everyday life. In the following days, a patient may experience a slight redness and itchiness with their skin, but this will usually disappear after a few hours. After the peel, the skin must be well protected from the sun, using high factor sun protection and plenty of moisturiser.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our team of professional doctors, and get ready for a brighter and smoother skin after your chemical peel treatment.
